Cans Festival - Banksy and Friends
May 6, 2008This past weekend, Banksy gathered some top artists from around Britain to create art in a rented tunnel. The Cans Festival featured work by 40 artists, as well as leaving space for anyone who wanted to add to the artwork. Though the tunnel nor the artwork will be for sale after the festival, tunnel owners have agreed to leave the art up for around six months. These are pics of the festival art from Flickr user romanywg. Visit his Flickr photostream for 200 more pictures.

I love that ‘you can’t buy any of it’. Art for art’s sake.

I do to. I also like their attitude towards the “limitedness” of their work. They create art knowing it could be gone sooner rather than later and they don’t care. Instead they go out and create some more.
